It's BS HeeroTX Send a noteboard - 02/12/2010 03:43:55 AM
Egwene is a natural Dreamer and that ability is like Perrin's or Min's. It has nothing to do with the Power.

What makes it BS is we're literally given CHAPTERS of time wasting crap of Perrin learning to do that stuff (and I like Perrin) and Egwene sees him dispel Balefire and she's like "well, if a man can do that **** then I'm all greatness, none can stand before me".

Just based on Perrin's longass fight with Slayer and all the crap with dealing with nightmares, Egwene never should've gotten out of the a'dam, to say nothing of the "contest of wills". Had she spent weeks TRAINING for that, maybe, but for sheer "ability" her natural Talent isn't better than (altho likely equal to) Perrin's, and it took him a ton of time of supervised training to pull that kind of thing. Sorry, but that scene where she just takes over in Mesaana's lair is ass.

(altho, ignoring the mechanics, I totally believe Egwene's ego greater than anyone's and thus that makes her powerful in T'A'R as NO ONE has a stronger opinion of self than her)

ps - it's also stupid that Sanderson throws in that "Egwene never took the test to become Aes Sedai, but if she had, she'd TOTALLY dominate in that too, she is teh awesome!!111!" Ugh, she is the WORST Mary-Sue ever.

The important thing is it is T'A'R. Her victory was not implausible at all. - 22/11/2010 02:11:08 PM 1445 Views

That. Is. Not. An. Accomplishment. Your perverse twisting of details for her sake is totally absurd. - 02/12/2010 08:54:12 PM 1298 Views
