And yet Henry VIII and Luis XIV were loved and honored. I really doubt these Andoran nobles made life for their subjects tougher than those two kings did.

Edit to add - It sounds like their deals with the bankers are are almost identical to how the world crisis in our world came about (as well as Elayne's solution come to think about it).
