several of Rand's chapters are quite boring, and it's another half-a-book novel. They really should have been written as one, the climax at Shadar Logoth be damned.

Mind you, I think both are decent reads if you excise the Shaido chapters. Bottom half of the series, sure, but nowhere near as bad as some.
