I agree. I think Lanfear will die, but in doing so, will either save Rand or destroy one of the other forsaken in the process.

As for Demandred, the man wouldn't help Rand even if it meant his death (which is what will probably end up happening). When you have that much hatred for someone fester inside you for 3000 years, it doesn't just go away. I can see him betraying the DO though if it meant getting a chance to kill Rand.

I don't think he'd help Rand either. However, does his desire to off Rand personally override his loyalty? Rand dies if the Shadow wins, but so does everything else. Is Demandred twisted enough that is acceptable? I doubt it. I think he'd betray the Shadow, or at least sit the fight out (if he were to know the Shadow's true intentions) and take a chance at getting Rand alone.


I think its more about killing him personally; if someone you hate so much and want to get vengeance on gets hit by a car, is there any sort of fulfillment from it, or will it feel like something has been stolen from you? I think he would betray the DO if it meant getting to kill the DO personally, though I doubt the scenario will come up.
