Shame on you, for complaining about new weaves beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 19/12/2010 09:42:44 PM

- Made up completely new rules, like using the TP to mind control birds (there has never been anything remotely hinting at this before)

I'll be the first to say I didn't like the whole Graendal thing, but bitching about new weaves? Come on!

In the first half of the series, the One Power was mysterious and magical. Now, though, it feels like we know everything. We can heal the stilled, cure madness, make ter'angreal and learn what they do just by touching them.

So you take a Forsaken, one of the people who are SUPPOSED to have access to the pinnacles of the One Power, find an example of something main characters have never tried, and you complain about it!?

For shame.

It's not even that crazy a thing. We know that Myrdraal can take the memories of birds and rats. We've seen examples of weaves that mess with a person's mind and perceptions, we know of weaves that affect and control animals (like the Blue Ajah's Bug Control weave), we know you don't have to be able to see a weave to hold it.

True, we've never seen anything like this, but it doesn't break any established rules.

I amuse myself.

Pretty much the single worst written piece in the entire series. - 19/12/2010 12:08:10 PM 736 Views
