When you see how he set up those quotes too some of it does seem odd. Obviously as whoohtown shows us some of our hunches will just be dead wrong.


I recall reading that the line about Perrin saying he didn't have sisters was corrected in a later edition. RJ has commented on the Min-recognizing Birgitte thing too, though I don't have the quote... At any rate, sometimes what looks like a mistake is just a mistake, and while I hadn't noticed or even heard of some of those contradictory quotes before, others apparently have a reason (such as being a mistake).
