is that such weaves have limited strength, and that a sufficient force will rip them apart. Think of Rand battling Lanfear, and having to maintain the dome, rather than tying that off. LTT's knowledge of weaves was being used in that battle so I think that means that LTT knew that the dome would be ripped apart if it wasn't maintained. I don't have the books here so correct me if I'm wrong about this.
