The Dark One is called the Father of Lies. The Forsaken were convinced the world would be remade and they be set to rule it. Which has been a big fat lie all along. Ishamael, of all the Forsaken, knew the Dark One's true motives all along. To destroy all of creation. Ishamael/Moridin is nihilistic. His views and support of the Dark One's goals are why he was made Nae'blis. He of all the Forsaken wants the same thing the Dark One wants.
While I agree that the DO has lied to and deceived the Forsaken, he might well have lied about anything. Including desiring the unmaking of the world. Has there been a RJ/BS interview that confirms this is his goal? I guess it just doesn't make sense to me. If there's nothing after the Last Battle, what does he win?
