We know for sure that Mat's medallion came from the 'Finns. We also know a few other things:

1) The OP has existed/been used in other ages besides the AOL and 3rd age (portal stones prove this IMO)

2) The Finns collect objects of power and dole them out as they see fit/according to their bargains.

With the above in mind:

-Mat's medallion could easily pre-date the AOL, and I don't even think that's a stretch to say TBH.

-It's far more of a stretch, but not impossible, that Cad's ornaments also pre-date the AOL. Simple example of how would be desperate breaking-era channlers making deals/requests of the Finns for anything to help them.
