1: The cloak and armor are not "exactly" clothes. They may be a part of the fade to a certain extent. The cloak is immune to movement by wind and motion after all so there is something not "natural" about them.

It's much easier to recognize a face without eyes, than to distinguish black cloaks vs dark cloaks.
