I don't remember reading anything about gholams feeding to stay alive. I think it's just that they crave blood, not for any nutritional value. I could be wrong on that. Either way, it could have gone into a torpid state like vampires do to stave off hunger and ennui.


I am re-listening to the series and am up to PoD. Their is a brief perspective from the gholam. In it he specifically states that he has to feed. Also that he was not aware o fhte passage of time from between the AOL and the 3rd age.

Therefore either the stasis weave somehow affected him or they have an "off switch" If it had been held outside the flow of time, but not in stasis it would have been concious of the long dull passage of time like Moggy was when SH tortured her.
