Re: As for Sahra... Terez Send a noteboard - 24/04/2011 04:03:45 AM
Likely because he doesn't know/didn't remember the answer (though he obviously looked into Sara's murder notes, most likely out of personal curiosity)...

He researched that because someone asked him about it before TOM came out, and he commented that it was good to know what people were curious about. I took that to mean he hadn't considered the question before, but likely he noted it down as something he could probably answer if it was asked again.

And as with previous such answers it's somewhat disappointing that Jordan had in mind that in the middle of important and delicate political plotting (where timing etc. was crucial), Alviarin would think it advisable (or Mesaana would think it advisable...) to leave the Tower to ride to an isolated village to take care of Sahra. You'd think the Head of the tentacular BA could.. you know... delegate tasks like that!

I sort of had the same feeling, but at the same time, this was early on in the game of trying to depose Siuan, and Alviarin might have simply wanted to avoid bringing unnecessary third parties into the Sahra thing. She could have also delegated the task of watching the ward on the storeroom, for example. Alviarin seemed to enjoy doing things like this.

Of course it makes perfect sense the BA would want to know what Siuan was hiding and had to kill Sahra after interrogation, but based on her reflections about "Elmindreda" later on - and the fact she was SC and number two, I always thought RJ meant Galina Casban was the one who went to interrogate and kill Sahra.

I considered that too, but Galina could have also delegated the task, being in the top three.

Of course, Jordan had no use for the "murder mystery" element, it was a scene to set anticipation that the Shadow was closing in on Siuan and something bad was coming. Perhaps he just noted it was Alviarin meaning she gave the order/the decision, and didn't give a thought about how this was executed.

It's possible, but not necessary I think.

Jordan wasn't so keen to give all the small answers like this, and it wasn't a bad thing I think.

I'm not so sure if he was less inclined to give small answers. As you'll note, Brandon RAFO'd a few, and RJ had given small answers on several issues like, who freed Padan Fain, was Ingtar at the Darkfriend Social, etc. I think Brandon answered this one because he thought it inconsequential but a good number of people seemed curious about it.
