Mesaana's final destruction happened well after Rand's epiphany on Dragonmount, in the month between his appearance at the WT and his meeting at Merrilor. Or did you mean that Egwene learnt about Mesaana's presence in the WT at that time, which was around that time indeed? The epiphany itself was in a way witnessed by Egwene and Silviana from the Hall...

No I meant that I am pretty convinced Brandon moved the confrontation with Mesaana to after the epiphany. I knew it was after as it stands now. He's made quite a few tweaks to RJ's planned timelines to accomodate the book split, making some events happen earlier and others later. I think this is one of them. He kept it for TOM to have something to keep Egwene in the plot.

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that RJ didn't have Rand give a month forewarning about the meeting in Merrilor. I think Brandon made that (in itself really minor) change to the global timeline because he had moved some events after the epiphany, to be able to end TGS with it.

I think this is most obvious with the Perrin at Dragonmount scene. - 18/08/2011 12:45:51 AM 974 Views
