Galad and Lanfear are apparently superhumanly beautiful and attractive and easily overshadow everyone else, and that's universal. There's no subjectivity when it comes to them, everyone of the opposite gender gets dazzled by their beauty after one brief glance. I'd even considered the possibility that Lanfear was using a bit of Compulsion to make everyone in awe of her looks, but that of course doesn't explain Galad's case.

IMO Galad has plenty of confidence BTW, even though he makes a point not to brag about his abilities and skills. Even Rand noted it immediately when he met him. "He was tall and slender, but his movements spoke of whipcord strength and a sure confidence".
