One opens the gateway and the other shoots fireballs etc. Or is it not possible to pass a weave through a gateway?
It should be possible. Rand used a weave to hold open Avi's gateway that she made. Maybe that didn't go through it though.
When attacking Rahvin in Caemlyn, Rand sent fire and lightning through ahead of him as he stepped through the gateway. So it is most likely possible to channel through a gateway, even if I doubt we will see such tactics used in the upcoming books.
