Unbreakable and unbendable not the same thing aerocontrols Send a noteboard - 17/02/2012 03:12:57 PM
Heartstone is indestructible from the moment it exists. If you hit it a thousand more times with a hammer, it doesn't somehow become MORE indestructible.

I have no idea why that popped into my head just now, but it's always bugged me.

Take a heartstone rod, 50 feet long, and set it in a building, with 40 feet of it sticking out. Now, hang 500 lbs off off of the end of it, and (perhaps) the end will bend down 3 inches. Over time, the bar gets stronger (less ductile, but no more brittle, since it's unbreakable) and finally straightens out on its own.

/No, I don't actually think Robert Jordan had this in mind when he decided to give the material that ridiculous quality, but still, the statement could be true in the way that I've said.
Hollywood has the best moral compass, because it has compassion.
