It always puzzles me when people call Elayne "spoiled". IMO actually Jordan went a bit too far in the other direction to the extend that it's somewhat implausible given Elayne's background. The heir to the throne of the largest and richest country in the Westlands is a great cook and a seamstress, not once has complained that she misses having maids and servants pampering her while on her travels, and doesn't complain more than Nynaeve or Egwene about having to do the menial task assigned to her in the Tower even though she's not used to that unlike them. She isn't a snob either, as her choice of friends and a lover indicates - all of them were nobodies from the back end of nowhere when she met them first.

Mat's so biased against Aes Sedai and nobles, that his observations about Elayne had to be taken with a big grain of salt. When did he think she was spoiled anyway, I don't recall such a moment...
