People are all the time saying "Give Egwene/Faile a break. She is only a teenaged girl! I know/raised/was lots of teenaged girls and the failings you describe are very common to them! They almost always grow out of these behaviors and once they're not teenagers, go on to be contributing members of society." To which my return point is the same: This is why we no longer allow them to have political power or to use magic without supervision! It is no coincidence that the minimum age to be President of the US is almost exactly twice Egwene's age. This should be a simple binary set choice: Either be a teenaged girl, and not actually undertake any responsiblity more complex than babysitting, or shut up, grow up and stop using that excuse.
