They obviously didn't channel all of it, since there were other wielders around them using the Power to settle beef.


But the cleansing didn't happen in an instant. It took all day. Even the sa'angreal-ed Rand and Nynaeve had a limit to how much they could channel. And that which had been cleansed would have returned to the general 'pool', available for use by others, surely?

But yes, this is all purely speculation and probably wrong. I'm not sure if RJ ever explained what exactly the DO did to taint saidin, and therefore how the cleansing worked.
