And I thought the Sweet covers had no relation to the books. Kaldric Send a noteboard - 29/09/2009 05:46:58 PM
I like to watch covers for The Wheel of Time from other countries.
I've found a german site featuring the german covers for the WoT or Das Rad der Zeit (The Wheel of Time) It's complete with every cover for every book except The Gathering Storm of course. The german translation is published in more than one part.

Klick the thumbnails for higher resolution. I think they are quite good most of them. I like the one with Ishamael especially. :baalzamon:

Enjoy!

Artistically, some of those are quite interesting, but I wonder if the artist(s?) read the books first. At least with Sweet's covers, I can kind of figure out what scene is being depicted. And how did they come up with some of the titles? My German is pretty rusty, but the second book of CoT seems to be "The White Castle". I suppose that could be a reference to The White Tower, but I'm not sure.

Very interesting. I wonder if we can find the covers for other translations.
