It seems to me that Aviendha's children hold the answer to Rand's ability. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that Aviendha gets pregnant with Rand's children post Rand switching bodies with Moridin and post gaining his new "powers." When Aviendha goes through the ter'angreal at Rhuidean we see that her children are able to channel the One Power in a unique way, quite different than anyone else. I imagine Rand's ability may be akin to Aviendha's children's ability and since he procreated the children post transformation they inherited his abilities.

I'm pretty sure Nakomi was sanderson's creation, not RJ's *NM*

No, other souls can't fill the role; it's always the same soul, i.e. Rand/LTT *NM*

We do not know that, and the Q&As are very vague on it.

That quote just seems to reinforce what I said, not refute it. *NM*

Amaresu is a hero of the horn, whom RJ almost certainly based off the goddess Amaterasu. *NM*
