So, it's been one of the themes of the series that the biggest gift the light can bestow on its people is love. All of the major characters had a love interest in the series. Now with this being the last battle and all, we expected death. Pretty much indiscriminately. We were given death, but how strange is it that when death did arrive to those in love it took both parties, so no one was left to grieve alone. Maybe it's just me, but I find that really trite and to a large extent a cop out. The happily ever after for the survivors......ALL of them.
Lets look
Rand + 3 - All survive
Egwene + Gawyn - Both dead
Bashere and wife - Both dead
Nyaneave + Lan - 1 dead, but miraculously healed by Creator Rand, so both survived.
Mat + Tuon - Both Survied
Suian & Bryne - Both dead
Domon & Leilwin - Both survive
Loial and wife - both survive
Perrin and Faile - both survive
Berelain & Galad - Both survive
Acutlaly the only pair I can think of that don't conform to this are Rhuarc and Ayms. Are there any more?
