Though Drew's statement below reminded me of the Halima moment in LoC. Makes me wonder why Demandred went with hurling a rocks instead of just blasting them with lightening... unless it's not possible to have that much accuracy when creating the conditions for it.


We've seen them target areas, but not reaching something like such accuracy as striking within a few feet - they mostly used this to strike randomly within large locations without having to keep their attention on striking at specific targets . It probably also require a minimum size of storm for it to form powerful enough lightning bolts.

Demandred, and his own soldiers, were feet away from his foe :) Mind you, had he wanted to defeat them with saidin, there was not lack of tricks at his disposal. Nothing prevented him from making a fountain of earth and stone explode right under his foe's feet while shielding himself.

He just wanted to defeat them as fair and square as he could. Call this a mix of honor and arrogance.
