I'm of the opinion that we we will never know the exact details RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 21/03/2013 10:11:43 PM

Stories change from the first, second, third, fifteenth, twentieth, etc. draft. There is no way for us to know if R.J., looking at how he finalized certain moments, would have changed the story. Interestingly, the way he set up the series to occur in a cyclical universe meant that we as readers are free to imagine changes in the characters, their storylines and how the events played out while preserving the overall structure of the quest. He might have fleshed out the last scene or Alivia's role more if he had more time, but the clock wound down and he was racing to finish the story with the time he had left. This was probably the ending R. J. envisioned, but certain characters may have survived, others may have died with no fanfare while others might have had other things happen to them. Tuon, in particular, seemed like she was set up for a big moment of character development that would set her up to become a heroine in Outriggers that never was followed through.

What was the "ending" that RJ had in mind for all of these years? - 20/03/2013 04:37:22 AM 1414 Views
That was what he wrote, so I would say yeah - 20/03/2013 03:50:40 PM 820 Views
But was it only that one small, specific scene? Not the entire epilogue chapter? *NM* - 20/03/2013 08:13:14 PM 378 Views
No, it was the whole epilogue - 20/03/2013 08:29:39 PM 1061 Views

The entire story, including the re-Sealing of Shai'tan's bore, was RJ's story. - 20/03/2013 11:56:45 PM 829 Views
Oh, I'm sure BS wrote all of the main points that RJ wanted..... - 21/03/2013 12:51:08 AM 873 Views
Rand was already mad by that point. This is pretty well established. *NM* - 21/03/2013 04:02:33 AM 323 Views

I like to think that he intended to give more of the secendary characters their payoff - 22/03/2013 02:48:47 AM 707 Views
