I did the same, and finished it last week.

I've been reading this bloody series for the best part of ten years, and I must admit to a little nostalgia upon finally finishing it.

On the whole, I agree with you. I think Jordan unfortunately left Sanderson with a bit of a mess to clean up. I enjoy Jordan's writing for the most part, though obviously some bits of it are too drawn out. There were just too many things to resolve, regardless of the fact that we knew that not everything would be resolved. Getting everybody into place to fight the Last Battle took a serious amount of time!

There are parts of Sanderson's writing which are weak in my opinion, but at the same time, I think there are parts where you can tell he's struggling to find a way to advance the plot and do it in a feasible way, so I feel a little sorry for him. For the sake of the plot, we find that many things just happen, when we're used to being handed the rationale or the mechanics behind most things in this series.

As also mentioned, so much happens that we start to lose the shock factor. There have been numerous scenes in this series that have sent a tingle down my spine or left a lump in my throat, and the only time that happened in this book was the reappearance of Moiraine. It was a good book, and a good ending, but I wasn't blown away.

Overall I think he did a good job with it. One thing above all is that it kept me turning the pages! I think I read this book quicker than any of the pevious thirteen!

I just needed the series to be over, so while I wasn't satisfied with the ending, at least it is some form of conclusion. I think B.Sanderson felt the pressure of playing with another author's universe and by the time "AMoL" came out, he was exhausted and not willing to polish his language as much as he could have.
