Sorry, but that's a ridiculous thing to state.. it's not like she's a good person who just happens to be allied to the Shadow. Of course she's evil and does evil deeds, but one of her character traits is to use logic and dispassion to gain her goals, and therefore deception and lying is counterproductive to her. She's the opposite of Graendal who is all about everything being a lie and a deception. I'm not trying to portray the woman as virtuous, I'm merely saying that lying is not one of her primary weapons against the Light - unlike Graendal, Lanfear and Moghedien who frequently lie to gain an inch.


Playing "Anath", inventing a false background story and trying to manipulate Tuon was precisely a big deception and couldn't be done without many lies by Semirhage. The same applies to arranging a meeting with the apparent "Daughter of the 9 Moons" and then posing as her.

How one can argue in the light of this that Semirhage wouldn't lie and deceive if it just suits her, is beyond me (especially since LTT only states that Semirhage rarely lies, not that she never lies). It makes sense that her statements in KoD about Rand were mainly a deception as well, even if she is right that Rand actually hears LTT. But as said, Rand doesn't hear LTT because he is insane, as Semirhage implies, but because he is the Dragon Reborn.

She's remarkably close to the truth. She's expressing her opinion, and she's clearly thought about it a lot. Ever wonder why Semirhage used an Illusion when almost no other Forsaken ever bothers? It's because she's received too many bothersome reports that Rand is Lews Therin, and he would recognize her. Which he did.


Semirhage posed as the Daughter of the Nine Moons to deceive Rand, so that she could capture him. After all Rand was supposed to meet "Tuon" (not Anath).
