I'd still buy it for the character stuff that I hope is in there. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 12/10/2015 02:59:17 PM

I remember getting the WoT roleplaying game because it supposedly had some extra background stuff (there actually was a book-like map of the city of Illian), and I was curious to see the statistical extrapolation of the characters' abilities, especially the Power stuff. But as I understood their somewhat obtuse system, Nynaeve was more powerful than Rand! Also, the characters had special traits listed, with many having one called "Balance" with a number after it representing their apparent level of ability at balancing. I flipped to the entry of one character I assumed would have to have that special ability, and a high score, and yet Elayne, the professional tightrope walker, had NO balance ability. Thom in the books claimed Mat had the fastest hands he had ever seen, but several characters had comparable Dexterity scores, including Min, who never demonstrated any such ability. There was all sorts of nonsense that clashed with the books, but those are the examples that still stick in my mind years later. I don't have much hopes of this bunch pulling out of their spin.
