He can be reincarnated. Some say Moridin's involvement means he won't be, others say he will Cannoli Send a noteboard - 03/10/2009 11:17:50 AM
After being gobbled up by a hungry Mashadar, can he be reincarnated? I mean, is there anything left? I know the Jordan quote about Sammael is toast, but does that just mean he's dead, or is he gone and never coming back?

Just wondering.
As far as the books go, it is, of course unknown. There is certainly no reason to believe he could not come back if the Dark One wished to re-use him. RJ has said that the Dark One views the Forsaken as the best tools available, since they have the AoL knowledge which none in this time can match. On the other hand, Moridin helped Rand survive and kill him so plainly he was in some disfavor with the top echelon. And maybe that was all Moridin's idea, and the Dark One might have resurrected him in a new body as a potential ace in the hole against Moridin if the Nae'blis should prove a disappointment...
