I think RJ left not much about Demandred's role in the LB, because it was all clear in his head, and I suspect in his "narrative", he used Demandred as the main general of the Shadow facing Mat, without going much into details.

It's possible that RJ left a note that Demandred should use the Ayaad, but Brandon has made it clear that all the backstory for Bao was his own creation. Even the name "Bao" comes from Bao Pham, husband of Aubree, a fan who is relatively high in the DM/con hierarchy.
