A preferable piece of fanservice, IMO, would have been a notation that she actually was seen in T'A'R after the Last Battle, frolicking with the Heroes. In future Ages, when the Horn summons the Heroes, Rand/LTT could be riding on her. Or if he needs a more badass mount, Hurin would do.

Bela was Egwene's mount. She was with Egwene for all the big moments of her life. Rand passed her to Egwene, and symbolically urged Egwene on her path by channeling for the first time to have Bela carry Egwene away from danger (and the Two Rivers).
I too think Bela belongs in TAR, but obviously as Egwene's mount. Dunno if I posted it here, but my reading of the final Egwene scene was that just like Birgette and Noal went to the people who needed them most, Egwene went to Rand. As her Accepted test indicated, her past, present, and future were bound with his.
You know, I'm going to come right out and say it. The resurrection bit in the Companion was cheap.
