BS - who we know is working on ToM now and picking some names of real persons for it - just posted on Twitter that he named some of Gawyn's Younglings after real life persons:
"Recenlty adapted names: Fitzgerald Clark, Eric Mazsone, Han Zhang. You guys just joined the ranks of the younglings," and: "Maksim Zhukov, your name came up next."
Around a week ago BS stated that: "Laura Negin, you'ended up as a villiage near Tar Valon."
Two days ago BS also said that he tossed what he wrote on Friday:
"Tossed the section from ToM I wrote on Friday. I knew at the time it wasn't working, but sometimes you need to finish so you can redo it."
Apparently it was a rather difficult section to write.
I think these little hints and the title "Towers of Midnight" further indicate that the battle at TV will happen in book 13. In my view, it makes sense that RJ wouldn't have written down the battle scenes in detail.
