No... you're right. beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 30/10/2009 07:02:05 PM
I thought Lews Therin said, we used HIM. I thought the true power IS the dark one, not just his separate reserve of power but actually HIM. Am I wrong?

The True Source IS the Dark One. Or, at least, it's his essence. Using the True Power AGAINST the Dark One seems... unwise, if not impossible.

You can only use it with his express permission (though maybe Rand used it through his link to Moridin.) Anytime you channel with it, the DO is aware of it.

I highly, highly doubt you'd be able to reseal the DO in with the True Power- it'd be like building a chest with the hammer locked inside said chest.

(It does have a neat symmetry, using the DO's power to seal the bore. Can't be a counterstroke, because the DO IS the counterstroke. I could see it being rationalized, I just don't think it will be.)
I amuse myself.

It also might be that Rand used Moridin as a conduit, making the DO's permission irrelevant. - 30/10/2009 03:58:04 PM 1042 Views
Indeed... Moridin is definitely worried about the connection - 30/10/2009 03:59:59 PM 1150 Views
