Ishamael crafted these Oaths, and he probably holds the BA in as much contempt as he does the other Forsaken. Like the Dark One, he too looks for ambition and greed in his followers, and it is probably true that someone who had that would never betray the Dark One. Not at the price of death.

After all, if we're gonna go with "those people would never betray the Dark One", why make them take an oath at all? And knowing Moridin/Ishy and his love of deep schemes, it strikes me as unlikely that he'd leave a loophole that big unintentionally... it's just I really can't see any reason why he'd do it intentionally, except as a massively convenient plot device for Verin's revelations, which would be utterly lame.
