I'm sure he'll also meet up with Morgase at some point, and there will go his reason for killing Rand.

He'll probably suspect Morgase is some apparition created by Rand to fool him. After all rumour had it Rand killed her and according to Gawyn a rumour is a good enough reason to swear to kill the only hope the world has of winning the last Battle, so he's not exactly a rational guy.
