When the plan was being presented to Tuon it was said that they would need between 80 and 100 to'raken with a handful of raken for scouting purposes as well as 200 solders and 50 damane.

Later after the meeting with Rand where we see their motion come into action Tuon notes that there are hundreds of raken/to'raken taking off or in the air. A handful of raken wouldnt constitue 100 or more.

Is it an inconsistancy? or did the plan change? Why didnt we get a clear picture of the force that attacked the white tower?

Suddnely Egwene's downing of 30 raken/to'raken doesnt have that much meaning if there were a total 300 raken/to'raken to begin with. She downed 3% of the entire raid force?

Also, if there were more raken/to'raken than originally planned, wouldnt it be safe to assume that there would be more damane as well as more troops?

----------------

Scenario 1 (according to proposal to tuon):
100 to'raken, egwene killed 30(30%)
50 damane, egwene captured 10, possibly killed more(20% +)
50+ suldam, 11 killed, possibly more(20% +)
200 soldiers, unknown amount killed or captured

Scenario 2 (according to tuon's observations at onset of raid)
200+ to'raken, egwene killed 30(15% or less)
100+ damane, egwene captured 10, possible killed more(10% or less)
100+ suldam, 11 killed, possibly more(10% or less)
400+ solders, unknown killed or captured

Egwene's devistation against the raiding force seems very good when viewed against the actual proposal given to Tuon but doesnt seem all that impressive against Tuon's actual observations at the onset of the raid.

Given that we are supposed to view Egwene's success in high regard, I am assuming that this is an inconsistancy on BS' part and that the actual numbers were those that were first proposed to Tuon and that Tuon's observation was grossly exagerated.

Can anyone else provide an explanation for the supposed inconsistancy other than that they decided to double the numbers off screen?

It also would have been nice to see at least another scene with a bloodknife successfully killing a sister or 2 before getting killed by a warder. It would have also been nice to hear mention of captured seanchan soldiers. I cant imagine that none were left behind in their retreat.

I thought it meant that Tuon changed the plan. *NM* - 03/11/2009 08:32:34 PM 276 Views

30 of 300 is 10%, not 3% *NM* - 08/11/2009 03:03:47 AM 183 Views
