(Sidenote: Warder bonds are an example of how to use the One Power to make someone faster, stronger, etc. without draining their lifeforce)
I think this lifeforce drains occurs with the Bond when the Aes Sedai holding it is killed; it seems to me that the Bond allows a non-channeler to gain the health benefits a channeler would normally get using their connection to the One Power.
