The Shadowspawn? guttering flame Send a noteboard - 06/11/2009 09:57:38 PM
In the BWB, the following is said:

"Civilization maintained some cohesion for a good many years after the strike at Shayol Ghul, of course, though the decline into barbarism was inevitable. But in many ways, the Shadowspawn were a more immediate threat than the maddened male Aes Sedai...With Lews Therin gone, Latra Posae, the former leader of the Fateful Concord, rose to preeminence, earning the name "Shadar Nor", translated as "Cutter of the Shadow" or perhaps "Slicer of the Shadow", for her valiant fight against the Shadowsworn..."

There is a lot of intervening wording about how after the Sealing, the Shadowspawn and the Forsaken increasingly began fighting amongst each other just as often as they fought against the Aes Sedai and the Light's forces, and also how The Breaking that put a finish to the War.

It seems very strange that creatures like trollocs which are basically trumped up swordsmen and even monsters like the Worms could come anywhere near the danger posed by thousands and thousands of men capable of drastically changing the landscape on a whim. And which are spread everywhere throughout the Lands held by the Light-side

But perhaps the biggest danger came from the starvation that came from the distortions of the seasons the DO imposed.

Yes. Most disagree with the idea, though. *NM* - 07/11/2009 03:31:33 PM 342 Views
