What rebels? The White Tower rebels/Salidar camp? And by traveled do you mean Traveled? Whatever it is, the theory sounds absurd. The only theory involving time travel that has any merit is the theory that Aviendha time-traveled when she opened her gateway to Seanchan, based on the time of the day and the location of the sun, in conjunction with Robert Jordan's claim that he had not made an error. However, most (including myself) believe that RJ had indeed made an error.
Remember that Rand has seen Hawking personally, after Mat blew the Horn of Valere in Falme. I'm not saying that I'm convinced it's Justice, but the evidence against this theory is slim.

That is a point. At falme he would have seen it. Does anyone have a copy of tGH handy and can describe the sword?
As to the sun and time of day... Randland is a round world right? So the sun would be at at different angle in different places on the planet. like right now it is dark here in Saint Louis. But I bet it is still sunny in Japan. Or sunny again, as the case may be. Actually tho, I wounder if any Travelling would be time travel as they got there before light could. Thus, giving Albert Eistein a headache... lol

Maybe I'm stupid, but why would Hawkwing have been using Lews Therin's sword?

Wouldn't Lews Therin's sword be buried under Dragonmount? And didn't Rand say it was his own memory?

I would bet he tossed it in disgust after the war of power was over. *NM*
