Egwene just can't believe that any Aes Sedai would swear fealty to Rand without someone using Compulsion on them. When really it was just Rand's ta'vereness that caused the first Aes Sedai to swear.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
