First post. Ever. Awesome.
Anyways, I have not seen this debated much, but did anyone else think that Dark Rand was totally awesome? I really think that he should have been kept that way until the next book, making the whole battle for his sanity a bit more suspensful.
Secondly, am I the only person that thinks Verin faked her own death? She claims she couldn't get the Oath Rod, but there is no way to prove she hadn't gotten it. I realise the standing opinion is that she couldn't get it because they were using in on whats'ernamenovice, but she could have gotten it earlier. And if she did, it would be very easy to fake her own death, thus making it much easier for her to continue her plans. Just a crazy thought, but I could see her doing it.

Finally, Egwene sucks. She had some redeeming moments in this book, but they only redeemed her back up to second worst character ever. Cannoli is completely right. Just my 2 cents.

To be fair, this WAS her best book. She overlooked all sorts of opportunities to screw up. A complete analysis of her in this book will be forthcoming once I untangle the snarl of her constantly changing views to ascertain her actual positions.
