Not that I can recall.

Remember Be'lal's dialogue about the fact they took a sport and turned it into a martial art again, and Sammael's scar.

Be'lal stated that they took the tame art of swordplay and made it into a deadly art. Sammael was a master of the tame form of the game. Be'lal was merely reacting to the fact that Rand had a sword, and so he channeled his own one.

There is no evidence that Sammael's scar was from a sword. In all likelihood Sammael received it in a One Power duel with Lews Therin, and any number of weaves could have done that. Saying that Sammael's scar came from a sword is like saying that Rand's hand was chopped off by Semirhage.

I don't think it's unlikely that Lews Therin had a sword, but there's no proof that he did. There's no evidence from past visions or text that Aes Sedai in the AOL had swords. I find it difficult to believe that Lews Therin was armed with a sword, but his own men had shocklances.

Well, you have a point. However, we don't know if there was a one power way to negate shocklances. Plus if the idea of killing with a SWORD was so novel they have to invent it, then I'm willing to bet they didn't have shocklances just lying around on the first day of hostilities... they probably started with swords and worked their way to shock lances...

Well we can't really argue about the progression of weaponry in the War of Power. I just find it a little absurd to think that Lews Therin and the male Forsaken had personal swords which they carried around. They were from a very advanced race, and just because swords changed from a benign to a deadly sport doesn't mean anything about Lews Therin's personal weaponry. If anything, Be'lal was referring to the Collapse when deadly sport became a norm.
