But if Moiraine had gained that knowledge from the Finns in Tear, I think she would have shared it with Rand, at least when she realized her death might be imminent. The other Finns grant you wishes, and that's supposedly where Moiraine got stuck.

Verin told Egwene that The LB wouldn't be at all like Rand expects, so Egwene could very well be the one who tells Rand that he can't defeat the DO with OP/TP.

It will be rather astonishing if Rand somehow wins the DO without using the Power. Of course, he does seem to have some new skills, threatening to kill Caddy by just bending the Patter to his will. Personally, I think he'll use the True Power somehow, since it's directly linked to the Dark One, and he cannot taint it like he can saidar/saidin.

Of course, killing the DO is not what any of us wants, since wiping him out entirely would unravel the pattern, yes?
