OK. I got the book yesterday evening, and after a marathon speed reading session my sleep deprived comment is :WOW
This is the best book since Lord of Chaos. And it is DARK. Very Dark. And so much more realistic than anything since LoC.
Anyway, I'm going to be posting comments as I formulate them over the next few days, but here's one that popped into my head relatively early in the book.
I found it strange that despite the incredible amount of coverage that we got about Semirhage, from the point of view of women who can channel - in particular Nynaeve and Cadsuane - there wasn't a single comment on just HOW strong Semirhage is in the Power.
In other words, never once did we hear someone say - she is stronger even than Nynaeve, or she is the strongest woman ever encountered, or she is stronger than Alivia, etc.
The closest we got was Nynaeve saying that Semirhage is very powerful, and that she would be highly dangerous is she got free, or something along those lines.
Did I miss any hints in this regard, in my warp speed skimming session last night?

Reducing the number of people holding the shield, reduces the strength of the shield correspondingly
