Egwene dreamt of Logain stepping over Rand's corpse to sit on a throne, but Rand's body turned to leaves and blew away and the face suddenly looked different on it.

Also, Slayer is an actual example of where two people have merged into one body in RJ's world. If Rand's uncle and Lan's relative of some sort can do that, I would expect Logain and Rand could. Plus, he has to die to live.
