Nah, LoM is much bigger and inhabited - it's a continent Sandwich Send a noteboard - 17/11/2009 04:48:19 PM
maybe anyway...
on page 102 Harine and Rand each agreed to answer a question for the other.

Rand wanted to know what they did with their male channelors. Harine said
"Men who can channel are given a choice. They can either step from the bow of their ship holding a stone which is also tied to their legs or they can be dropped off on a barren isle with no food or water. The second is considered the more shameful option, but some few do take it, to live for a brief time longer."

She might be referring to the Land of the Madmen.

I was with you for a second there, but looked up the Big White Book info on the Land of Madmen. It's a peopled continent, not a barren island. But we're both right in that knowledge of it is with the Sea Folk. According to the below wiki link, that page of which has info from the Big White Book, the Sea Folk do know of the continent and have roughly mapped its shores, but won't go there because the people kill outsiders and the channelers area all mad. I think when Harine referred to a barren island, she meant either one specific barren island out in the sea or any given barren island out there, not an Australia-ish continent.
