Hmm BlackAdder Send a noteboard - 18/11/2009 11:56:09 PM
We know for a fact that the DO can recover a balefired thread within a certain time period. the severity of the balefire doesn't change the type of damage done to the thread. So if the thread is still usable to the DO then it is still usable by the Pattern. Any interpretations to the contrary are an error on Sandersons part or on the readers part. You can chose which you want but those are pretty much the only options. RJ has established how balefire works already the thread is removed. Not destroyed.

I think he said there is a very limited window and a threshold for the amount of balefire that can be withstood before the thread becomes unusable.

In that case, I think it is burnt forever. Only the DO has any chance of "rescuing" a balefired person.

Yes, but limits--can still be re-spun and some balefire may not work - 08/11/2009 03:41:52 AM 641 Views
It's the 're-spun' part that bothers me. - 08/11/2009 04:37:08 AM 629 Views

I maintain that my first impression and my rereading it did not cause me to question how it works - 13/11/2009 09:41:20 AM 528 Views
