She was around in NS... and Mesaana wasn't.


Any AS she's impersonating was also alive in NS and possibly AS already - that's not a good reason.

But there are serveral reasons why it's not:

All hints (most importantly from Verin and Graendal) point to Mesaana being AS

The Mistress of the Kitchens has far too many responsibilities for Mesaana to effectively do anything else.

When I asked Brandon about Laras, the RAFO and following discussion didn't go in the direction of hidden forsaken but of a differnt story altogether that would be revealed in an additional prequel if it gets written.
