Bound by the three oaths, can you can lie if you make it a question? As in "I am not Black Ajah? LlordNakcor Send a noteboard - 22/11/2009 06:01:54 AM
Egwene: "...I'd name you Darkfriend as well, but I suspect that the Dark One would perhaps be embarrassed to associate with you."

Elaida's first verbal response: "You name me Darkfriend?" Elaida screamed. "You are the Darkfriend. You and those rebels outside, who seek to distract me from doing what must be done.In an earlier thread some people claimed that Elaida did not lie when she said "You name me Darkfriend?" because she formed it as a question.

If so, can I swore the three oaths and say "I am not Black Ajah?"

Meaning you don't believe that I am Black Ajah.

Would you as an oral observer notice any inflection making it question? Especially after listening to it hundreds of times?
