And the debate if the voice Rand hears/heard is truly LTT's former personality or just a construct created by Rand's mind seems a bit pointless now, after BS said that both interpretations are legitimate, and that RJ didn't want to reveal it. (although I have to admit, initially after reading the end of TGS I definitely thought that your view on it was right after all)

He didn't say that both interpretations were legitimate - he actually made sure to clear that up at a later signing. There is a correct answer to the debate, detailed in the notes, but RJ didn't want to reveal it, so he's not going to either. That's in the Rand category as well. He seemed to be surprised by the fact that people took his "RJ didn't want to reveal it" comments as meaning that there was no correct answer:
