I think you are wrong on the 90% darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 26/11/2009 05:51:28 PM
Argh. I'm not going to argue anymore. I'm not saying that you're wrong.

I'm just saying that the 90% of Wot that has been based on military buildup, political maneuvres and the gathering of channelers has all been for nothing, then.

All that will matter is Rand's internal struggle.

That will be incredibly lame.

A story about the War of Power would have been far more entertaining then, or even the Trolloc Wars.

All this incredible build-up, for 3000 years, and 12 books, only for Rand to cross some emotional rubicon.

IMO 90% of the series has been about the slow collapse of humanity and thus Rand (or maybe the other way around). Realistically there have been only a handful of actual battles in the series and the focus of almost all of the military buildup has been about Channelers.

I think in ToM and/or AMoL we'll see a few battles (I'm hoping Demandred v. Mat at Caemlyn will be the highlight), but the real fight will be Rand v. DO and will probably have little to do with generals etc... I get the impression from RJs writings that he will make the LB about healing, not killing.
